Identification and prioritization of merozoite antigens as targets of protective human immunity to falciparum malaria for vaccine and biomarker development

The first comprehensive evaluation of merozoite antigens as targets of human immunity, including 96 antigens, which examined responses in detail in a longitudinal cohort of over 200 children. The study identified several antigens as strong targets of protective immunity that underpins a rational approach to vaccine development and biomarker development.
